Tin

The t-blythe product range includes oxides and chlorides of Tin II and Tin IV. These products are offered in a wide range of variants to meet our customers’ specified requirements. We also manufacture Flamtard, a range of industry leading flame and smoke retardants.

t-blythe products are made to exacting standards in modern, purpose designed plant. All products are manufactured to high purity levels with tightly controlled particle size and distribution.

Using raw materials from a strictly controlled supply chain, the t-blythe products are produced in-house from elemental tin. Our proprietary manufacturing processes are designed to maximise purity levels whilst minimising material waste.

Our products are the source of tin for micro crystaline tin oxide based surface finishes for glass and ceramics. Within the coatings sector our superior regulatory position differentiates the t-blythe product range from other products.

In response to segments of the pigment industry being driven by regulatory changes to remove toxic metals such as cadmium and lead, William Blythe has developed technically differentiated performance products to meet the needs of new patented pigment chemistry.

William Blythe has developed (Patent Pending) t-blythe S1012, a Stannous Chloride anhydrous in a free flowing configuration containing no additives. Our patented technology enables William Blythe to supply polymer encapsulated Stannous Chloride Masterbatches for use in polymer additive and catalytic applications.

Short Tin (ii) Oxide, or Tin Monoxide, is a black crystalline powder that is used as a source of Sn2+ ions in solid state description reactions to produce complex oxides, or in reactions with weak acids to manufacture stannous compounds.

Stannous Oxalate is used as a catalyst for esterification reactions between long chain fatty acids and alcohols and in polymerisation reactions.
