The Responsible Care® initiative aims to improve safety, health and environmental (SHE) performance and enhance communication with stakeholders about products and processes. William Blythe has a longstanding commitment to Responsible Care® that is fully integrated into the way we run our Company. This ensures that everything we do, from sourcing raw materials, through running our manufacturing site, to stewardship of our products to guide their safe use and disposal, is fully compliant with the principles of Responsible Care®.
In pursuit of Responsible Care®, William Blythe works together with other companies and national associations to:
- Continuously improve the environmental, health and safety knowledge and performance of our technologies, processes and products over their life cycles to avoid harm to people and the environment.
- Use resources efficiently and minimise waste.
- Listen, engage and work with people to understand and address their concerns and expectations.
- Cooperate with governments and organisations in the development and implementation of effective regulations and standards, and to meet or go beyond them.
- Provide help and advice to foster the responsible management of chemicals by all those who manage and use them along the supply chain.
The Responsible Care® ethic helps our industry to operate safely, profitably and with due care for future generations. It has been adopted by the chemical industries of 54 countries, including the UK.
