William Blythe is delighted to announce its participation in a new UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funded project: Computational formulation technique for developing resource and energy efficient functional coatings for foundation industry (Com2Coat).
Com2Coat, a project led by Pilkington Technology Management alongside partners Tata Steel and Beckers, aims to augment and improve traditional formulation processes via digitalisation. The formulations under investigation in this project will be designed to apply functional coatings to glass and steel via spray deposition. William Blythe’s role is to supply the active ingredient in the formulation to provide the functionality.
This project is part of the UKRI’s Transforming Foundation Industries challenge, a new Programme targeting reducing the carbon footprint of energy-intensive businesses. The ultimate aim of Com2Coat is to develop universal digital tools that can help to produce high value products at lower cost and with lower energy consumption.
